With halloween right around the corner and not willing to spend oodles of money for a costume, I opted to make my own this year. I’ve used a similar chest plate in the past but it was made of a hard, SHARP edged plastic (imagine the children’s halloween masks of yesteryear) that cut into my shorter frame when I sat down. It was horrible and I only lasted about an hour wearing it.

Fast forward SEVERAL years (much older but not any more creative :). I found this chest plate that is made of a durable yet soft, pliable foam material that moves with me, not cutting into me. I’ve been able to wear and sit and not sweat profusely wearing it so I think it’ll be perfect for an upcoming halloween costume party.

The shading is subtle (I may darken the 12 pack effect with a wash of darker latex paint) and looks very realistic. It’s a great choice for anyone who needs a naked man’s chest plate?!?!? 🙂

Horrible quality. Ripped after I tried it on wearing it under a shirt for the Halloween costume party. Very cheap quality would have sent back but for as little as I spent I wasn’t worried about it. Live and learn.

In one (main) picture it does not show red markings going down the front, but it is ugly and should not come with it. It should show a picture with this mark. So glad it is easy to return, worthless.

I was fully aware of what this likely was and it was just that – thin foam. So don’t expect it to be able to add any size to your chest, it’s only a thin cover. Good color and form though!

This is a very cheap, thin foam set of abs. It doesn’t fit very well, and the elastic straps that hold it on had broken within minutes. But I was able to put it on underneath my shirt and win the office Abs contest, so it was worth the 10 bucks or whatever to me. I doubt it would hold up for a night of Halloween partying, however.

This was purchased to wear under a costume shirt, but the material is so thin that it does not show through a tight spandex (superhero) style shirt. It just looks like you’ve got a piece of cardboard under your shirt. This item might work for someone who planned to have an open shirt, but the airbrushing is so dark that it makes the item look like a gorilla stomach instead of a human one. In addition, despite over packaging, one of the nipples was dented and doesn’t want to “pop” back out. I’m returning the item.

Pretty cheap, the string keep popping off when my husband wore it for allowed I keep having to re string it and tie new knots.

It is as thin as papper, flimsy, the arm sraps are so thin that even attempting to put it on it they detached. It was a wasted $10.00

I bought this to paint it gray as a gorilla chest as a Halloween costume and it was perfect. I hot glued it to a T-shirt and it looked great. Don’t expect this to show through under clothes. It’s very soft and flexible. The rubberband arm slings attached will most likely break so come up with another way to attach it.
