I got these to use as hiking suspenders, thinking that the side clips would keep the backpack from knocking the suspenders loose as I put it on, and also that the side clips would not chafe against the pack and would be nice and light (since they are made of plastic). However, I found that they do chafe a little over the course of a 6 mile hike, which means I don’t even want to try them over the course of a 15 mile hike. Of course, this is not their intended use anyway, so I can’t say that their failure in this regard makes them a bad product.

As to the buckles slipping as some other reviewers have alleged, I noticed that happening as well after wearing them all day on several occasions. However I don’t think the buckles are slipping exactly, but rather that the elastic is stretching. After several wears it seems to stop – as if the elastic has reached its point of equilibrium. Then they will no longer need continual adjustment.

I have been a very happy customer of Hold-up Suspenders for years. I wear the 4-clip airport friendly model daily. The only problem is that while doing exercise on the ground the clips are uncomfortable. The "Trucker Style" side clip solves the problem and still keeps my pants from falling down. It took me a little bit of time to get a system going (it’s much easier to clip the suspenders on and then put my pants on) but. They work great. All of their products are really well-made and last a long time!

My only negative is that they can slip and become kind of a problem. Other than that, I really like them, as long as they stay at the length I set, they’re very comfortable. Now, you need to know I put a lot of weight on these. I conceal carry a .45, an extra magazine, a knife and the usual wallet and keys. I would recommend them

The suspenders arrived in the mail quickly. It took me a little while to figure out how to use them, but no big deal. As the instructions suggest, fasten them to your pants first if you like. The clips attach on the pants sort of in the middle of each side next to where your hipbones (tops) would be. The logo on in the middle of the X should be showing, and the point of the triangle shape goes upward. Comfortable and very well made, imho. The grip fastener tab has to be flipped all the way out with the fingers before the clip can be fastened to the side of your pants. The plastic clips hold strong.

I like this style of suspenders, the plastic grips grab and hold as good as the metal ones. However the plastic adjustment slip and do not hold well, I had to use a safety pin to make them stay in adjustment. Also they are all elastic, unlike x or y style that have canvass straps with elastic on the back x or y, these flex or give more. They do stay in place for me and do not slip in my armpits like several others have said

great for flying since you don’t have to take them off clips hold tight also the side mount clip keeping you from tearing up you car seat with the rear mounted clip

Bought these to wear with my snowboarding pants since I could never cinch a belt tightly enough to keep them from falling down during the constant sitting/standing/kneeling/falling of snowboarding. They are pretty comfortable and hold my snow pants up. Can’t ask for much more.

I think that these are great, especially for bigger guys, like myself, who carry most of the weight towards the front.. They have a much better line than regular suspenders.They are quite comfortable to wear. My only complaint is that I think that this style should include some of the other really great patterns and colors that are available in the company’s other suspender lines. Their "Double Up line has really nice patterns, stripes, colors and Jacquard looks. I think that many of those would be really stylish in the "Hip Clip" line and would become quite fashionable.

The best suspenders I have will not buy anything else.

I wear these under my shirt, next to my skin, because I useca wheelchair and I do not tuck my shirt in. The side clips work great and don’t cause skin issues. The material is also skin friendly. I did have to put some cloth tape on the spot, in the back, where the straps overlap. The leather edges were making me itch. One layer of micropore cloth tape fixed it.

I’ve been looking for a way to keep my pants up and straight for a while. These work perfectly.
