What They Say About ‘2XU COMPRESSION CALF GUARDS’

I really like the calf guards but….

The side stiching is starting to open, now I have big threads hanging!

I’m asking for a replacement, for the price one is paying these kind of quality defects are not acceptable.

I Have purchased numerous 2XU compression socks and calf sleeves and all have been great over the years. However, this is the worst product I have ever received under the 2XU Brand name. As others have stated, the material is thin, does not compress and in also to short in length to even fit properly.

I Do Not Recommend this particular product from 2XU, they do have much better than this one. Mine has inner tags as well and states made in Thailand for the record.

Worst product I have ever received under the 2XU Brand name!!

Great fit and great compression. I have large calves (19.5 in) and circulation problems. After a few weeks on my feet at a new job, I thought my legs would never recover. Within minutes of putting these sleeves on, I could feel the difference. After about a week of wearing these sleeves, almost all the aches and pains in my legs were gone. I rarely go to work without these sleeves now and am building strength and endurance by leaps and bounds again. I would recommend these compression sleeves to anyone who has issues with circulation in the legs or general aches and pains from standing/walking. My doctors have recommended compression stockings for me in the past but my feet/toes were greatly irritated by them, these are the perfect compromise of compression without the irritation. And they came in pink too!

I bought a pair of these a few years ago and loved them so I wanted to get some more. These were on sale for $12.50 from the usual $30-$40 which is really overpriced. I assume they were on sale since the cherry pink didn’t sell well. Anyways, my old ones had elastic in the upper and lower portions, but these new ones only have it in the upper portion so it’s significantly more difficult to remove and slightly more difficult to put on. I still love them for the price, just not as much as the old style.

I have to admit I was skeptical about how effective these would be, but after wearing them for the last week I can absolutely tell the difference in both how I perform while training w/ them and my recovery when I wear them afterwards. So much so that I’ve already ordered the full leg sleeve so that my quads get the extra help for my recovery. So I will train with these and recover with the full leg. doesn’t hurt that they look pretty cool to. Have already gotten some nice compliments on them. Have worn on both longer runs and bikes and had no chaffing issues or slippage. While they fit as expected if you aren’t sure what size to get go down a size instead of up is my one piece of advice. If you are looking for any type of help this season these sleeves are a relatively cheap way to help you recover and take on a harder training load at the same time.

***UPDATE*** After a ton of use they are still working great. However, I can no longer recommend getting the white. Over time they have become discolored and dirty despite constant washing and care. Will be getting another pair just in a color that won’t show use as easily.

Shin splints have been a problem for me and these have been helpful in staving it off during running and during recovery. I do feel like compression gear works best for recovery so I tend to slip these on "after" a run. My hope is that I’m building up during my run and these help w/ quicker recovery after the fact. 2XU in general I have liked. The material is top-notch and compression has always felt great while keeping me cool.

The actual compression effect isn’t very strong at all. Beyond that, it seems it will get less and less with each wear and wash. I do know this 2xu calf and i do have it before order this one. The blue model is smaller than the red one although they are SMALL sizes.

I have been training for my first marathon and developed tendinitis in my lower leg about a month ago. It would really flare up after long runs and i wouldn’t be able to walk without a limp for days after. Even when the pain subsided, it would never go away completely. My PT wife told me to look into compression sleeves and i found these had pretty decent ratings. I have very skinny 13″ calves (hence the title), so i ordered these in XS. They arrived this afternoon and I have to say the effect has been transformational! I hobbled my way to the mailbox to get these and after I slipped them on, I am able to walk with barely a limp! I am no medical professional, but this is as close to a medical marvel as I have experienced. The pain is significantly diminished wearing the sleeve even just walking around the house. Now, I haven’t run with these, but I do have a 20-miler this weekend, and I plan on running with them on. Will report back if there are updates, but so far, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

UPDATE (2 weeks later): I’ve been wearing the compression sleeve on my bad leg almost everyday and it has definitely helped with pain reduction. I wore them on my 20-mile run without any discomfort, and even though I’m tapering before the race, I keep them on even on my shorter runs. Very pleased with the quality of the product – they haven’t lost their form or shape even after daily wear.

I have some run calf sleeves by the same brand, which I bought in desperation at a store that only had one size and brand, and those are great. I wanted to size down, so I bought these in a size smaller than the sleeves I have. I stuck with the brand since I liked the calf sleeves so much. However, these calf guards are useless, and seem to be of far lower quality/construction. the tops and bottoms dig into your legs a lot more than the run calf sleeves. I regret purchasing these instead of those very much. the only to benefit to these is the reflectiveness.

I am a basketball player and these compression calf sleeves is very effective to keep my muscle warm so that my calf won’t feel sore or fatigue during game time. Sleeves are made of soft material with perfect stitching, and strip from inside to fit your calf better, it is very durable and comfortable.
