I’ve always wanted to try non-cotton underwear but never wanted to pay the price. $20 for 2 pair is still steep but cheaper than a lot of others like this that I’ve seen. I work in a hot factory and this completes my ensemble with wool backpacking socks and wicking t-shirts. Even when these do get a little wet from sweat they dry quickly and never chaff or rub me raw anywhere. They are tight but I think that’s a good thing as they stay in play and never ride up my legs plus my wife seems to like how tight they are as well. My only complaint is about the waistband. Not that it’s too narrow or tight or what other reviewers mention. All that is fine. The waistband material doesn’t dry as quickly and seems to absorb and retain sweat a lot more than the rest of the underwear. It’s just a minor annoyance sometimes is all which is why I give them 4 stars instead of 5. There are probably better wicking underwear out there I haven’t found yet but for now I wear these every day of the week.

There are an almost identical type sold on amazon by adidas called the “adidas Men’s Athletic Comfort Climalite 2-Pack Boxer Brief”. They are about 2″ shorter and they do ride up a little. I made the mistake of ordering some by accident when I meant to re-order more of these. if you want the longer leg then make sure it’s the “Sport Performance” and NOT the “Athletic Comfort”.

Brought these for running and working out. I only had under armour in the past. They are virtually the same product. At half the price, I see no reason to buy under armour again.

Recently I found myself thinking that I would like something to wear under my athletic shorts that weren’t regular boxers nor boxer-briefs. I also wanted something that I could wear both to the gym for weight training as well as wear on jogs (greater than or equal to four miles). This whimsy, of course, led me to Amazon where I stumbled upon this item. I initially bought two pair (black and gray), while I don’t know if there was a mix-up or if it was my own carelessness, I was given two of the Large. For those reading at home, I’m 5’9”, weigh ~ 170 lbs (stocky), and wear a size 33” waist. When I find 33 x 30 pants I’m literally giddy with excitement as these fit perfectly off the rack.

Going by the sizing chart off of Adidas’ website, these were obviously too big for me in theory. In reality, the waist fit great due to the elastic, and the inseam length was not too long for me. However, I did notice just a small amount of bunching occurring, but not nearly enough to bother me. There was also enough support to my mind. As I said earlier, I wear these both at the gym and running. For running, I cannot recommend these enough as I have gone on runs ranging from 4-8 miles and there hasn’t been the slightest bit of chaffing (which can be absolutely killer for dudes!). Granted, I’ve only worn them in the winter months, but I live in the South so winters are mild here. I’ll update when I go over an 8 miler. These shorts whick the moisture away perfectly! Indeed, I’ve worn them with both regular soccer shorts (no man should go shorter than soccer shorts in my mind :|) as well as wearing them under running tights. When I wore them under running tights, I did not feel as if I was wearing too much, there was enough support, and there was also even a Ken-doll type effect happening so there wasn’t any camel-tail type thing going on…I don’t know, I’m not narcissistic so I didn’t spend more than a couple seconds perusing myself in the mirror. Anyway, I liked the initial pair I got so much I decided to purchase two more but this time in size Medium as that was what the chart recommended. I can say that I like the size, fit, and support even more with the Mediums! So, if you’re conflicted about what size to get, I’d go by your waist size unless you’re severely bottom heavy and/or packing some serious Dirk Diggler-esque heat in your trousers. These are the only compression shorts I’m going to buy from now on… in size Medium.

I purchased one pair each of 3 of the top brands of boxer brief ~5 months ago to do some user testing. I am a 5’8", 190lb male competing in amateur Strongman. I lift and carry a decent amount of muscle in my hips, ass, and legs. I work at a gym and coach lacrosse and was looking for something that would keep me reasonably cool, dry, and comfortable during my day of moving around and sweating.

UNDER ARMOR ORIGINAL 6′ BOXER BRIEF
The worst of the group. It looks like they left room for an athletic cup in there, but it holds my package really weirdly and is uncomfortable beyond about 10 minutes. Fits nicely on the legs and waist, doesn’t tend to ride up, but the package-mashing effect drops it way down my list. The material is also rougher than the other two reviewed. Wicking and dryness was adequate.

ADIDAS CLIMALITE "SPORT PERFORMANCE" BOXER BRIEF
Slightly better than the UA brief, material is softer, but they run small. More comfortable overall, but there still isn’t enough room for the package. One thing that I noticed with the boxer briefs as well as with compressions shorts is that the comfortable brands have a square stitched in to the taint area. Without this extra patch, the material pulls around the taint like a thong. While some may find this strapping-down effect beneficial, I like to have a bit more room and prefer the square patch.

EX-OFFICIO MEN’S "GIVE AND GO" BOXER BRIEF
This was the best of the 3 and the only one that I bought more of. They fit nicely, the material is comfortable, the wicking is excellent, and my package is secure but comfortable all day. They are a little more expensive than the other two, but well worth the money. They ride up a bit because they are less compressive than the UA and Adidas, but never to the wedgie point of discomfort. I generally wear these for a day and then hand wash them in my sink at night, and they’re dry by the next day. Supremely efficient and comfortable as well.

CONCLUSION
If you want compression shorts for working out, go buy some actual compression shorts. I prefer the ones made by Under Armor with the square taint patch because it keeps the material from tugging on my Johnson. If you want an every-day boxer brief with excellent wicking and overall comfort of both legs, ass, and Johnson, buy the Ex-Officios. UA and Adidas both tried to create a combination compression short and boxer brief and ended up not doing either very well.

I never thought I’d be reviewing underwear. Like most guys, I’d buy the cheapest underwear in my size and wash and wear them until they were completely worn out. The elastic bands would lose their snap, seams would separate, oh well, you get the idea.

Then one day a saw a commercial touting quality Men’s underwear. I forgot the brand name, but it got me thinking that there may be better choices out there – real comfort could be achieved by spending a little bit more money. This isn’t new to me, I’ve bought quality instead of price on many things. Applying this concept to underwear was a logical next step.

These fit great and feel amazing against my skin. They are cool and comfortable all day long. They wash well, and I hang them up to air dry. The tag says you can tumble dry these, but I really want these to last a ling time and they don’t take long to dry,

I normally wear underwear in size Large, and ordered these in Large. They fit perfect.

This product is good quality. Have only tried it on but seems to be solidly put together and is a good breathable material. As others have noted the waist band is somewhat thick so it will retain some sweat, but will air dry quickly. the material is soft and very comfortable to wear. The exact size chart is not posted anywhere on this page for some reason so I have copied the exact chart from the packaging in order to hopefully stop others from ordering the size too large:

It is a 5/5 product, but due to misinformation I will likely need to return for a smaller size. I have deducted 1 star for not simply copying the tiny chart into the description.

I have recently started switching from Hanes to ExOfficio briefs, and decided to give these a try since the ExOfficios are a little on the expensive side. I’ll give my pros and cons on the product, but first I will say that to me, these are not even close to the ExOfficios.

Pros: The material seems decent. I only wore them for about an hour or so, and they were comfortable in that time period. I took my dog for a light jog. The briefs did not ride up, and I seemed to stay rather cool (though I hardly broke a sweat). The seems were a little shorter than what I was expecting, but not too short. The fit is definitely on the tighter side on the thighs, but not overly tight. Other than what I will say in the Cons section, these were rather comfortable.

Cons: The main con is that these are so tight around the crotch area. One thing I love about the ExOfficio is that they are rather tight, dont ride up, yet leave my junk enough breathing room while still providing support. These were the total opposite – no breathing room and it felt like my junk was being held hostage by ISIS or something. It was just extremely uncomfortable. As stated, I took the dog fora light job. I had to change out of these after I got back.

Bottom line, I have only tried these on for an hour. Everything other than the crotch area was great, and I would give it a 4/5 star for that. But the main part, the jewels area, was just too uncomfortable. I am going to try to wear them for an entire day, and will provide an updated review if anything changes. But for me, these were just too tight in the main area.

I have tried over the years with many underwear for everyday usage basis. This briefs are the best I have ever used. Adidas got me as a true costumer with this product

-Updating this review to 4 stars – These have been much better over time during actual sports, I still use them today and have bought the updated version. The updated version is MUCH better and has longer legs, so no nearly as much noticeable ride up – new version gets 5 stars. The slit over time proved to be no big deal and is probably better for low overhead during sports.

I’m ~190, athletic, in shape with thicker legs – I wear a size 34 waste. The larges ride up during sports and don’t give my package enough room to feel comfortable – maybe the XLs would have been better. I’ve tried a few brands so far, including the Exofficio & just today the microfiber calvin klein. I really like the package room the kleins gave me and the waste was not too tight as well, again no "convenience slit" – but they were good, a bit pricey, $30 local. The exofficio were nice too, gave me some package room and an actual slit, but I wasn’t 150% crazy about the waist band.. I’m still on the lookout for a perfect pair.

I have to say these are the absolute best boxer briers I’ve ever owned. Normally, I have to choose between the "trunk" type of boxer briefs that you find from Hugo Boss or H&M or the classic boxer brief that you’ll find from Polo or Nautica. While the classic, larger style tends to be more comfortable, they tend to bunch up and ride up over the course of the day as they loosen up. The "trunk"type typically run smaller where I have to buy a large or XL but they won’t bunch up because they’re only slightly larger than regular briefs and just don’t have enough material to bunch up. The "trunk" style is generally more uncomfortable as they’re simply too tight fitting or too loose if I choose to get an XL size. FYI, I’m 5’10"and weigh 200 lbs with a 35 inch waist. These Adidas boxer briefs are like a spandex material and run smaller than typical boxer briefs. I normally wear a large, but in these I ordered a Medium and they fit perfectly. Over the course of a full day, where I’m walking around or running and going up and down stairs, these boxers don’t bunch, don’t ride up and don’t squeeze my junk. It’s like they’re not even there. I haven’t noticed whether they breathe better than regular boxers as it’s winter and I haven’t really gotten into too many activities that would make me sweat while wearing these. That would just be an added bonus to a great fitting pair of boxers. i’m ordering another pair right now.
