What They Say About ‘2XU RECOVERY COMPRESSION LEG SLEEVES’
At first, they were much longer than I had expected, they pretty much come all the way up to my crotch area and to be honest, I lose a little bit of my masculinity when I roll them up that high.
They are super comfortable (and tight) You can definitely feel the difference after putting them on after a long run or cycling session.
Don’t forget to wash off the chemicals when you first receive them in the mail.
::EDIT::
After using them for about 3 weeks, I’ve found that even though they are very tight from top to bottom, I still find that the sleeves do tend to slip a little at thighs. The times they have slipped down towards my knee is when I wear jeans or tighter pants over them. Jeans or cotton material may tend to pull down the sleeves. However, I’ve worn them with relaxed fit fleece pants and another time with mesh shorts and do not have a problem with them slipping down.
Great compression. Ideal for overnight recovery These sleeves fit very true to the size chart. Not really for exercising in my opinion, as they slide down if you put them on wrong. I’d recommend you mostly wear them when you aren’t moving, long car/plane rides, or every night when you sleep. That said I have pole vaulted and ran with them on no problem in the past, and I think they even helped with shin splints. I mostly recommend them for overnight because I’ve tested them on multiple occasions by wearing a sleeve on one of my legs and having my other leg as the control test. This experiment was most often performed after a day of hard running and/or lifting. Without fail, I would always feel less soreness in the leg that wore the sleeve overnight, thus I have concluded that these sleeves kick butt. Yeah science!
Also these are tighter and more durable than the 2xu tights that I bought for 5 times the price if that says anything.
Purchased the pair for recovery. It does a good job, breathable and more flexible than compression tights. Personally, this feels more comfortable.
I have short legs, and the sleeves are a bit longer for me. Buy according to the size chart and it will fit well. It doesn’t have left/right difference. It feels similar to compression socks, only longer.
As many mentioned, it keeps falling off due to the design, not something you’d notice, but you can see after a night’s of sleep. So I would avoid to use it during a run.
Overall, I’d say it is a good supplement if you are tired of wearing compression tights all the time. I would recommend if the price is significantly lower than those tights(skins a200, 2xu compression, etc).
I’ve had many recovery sleeves and these seemed to be an interesting idea – calves + knees + quads. They work just like they should, and my complaint is that by the time they are fully pulled up, unless you have really small quads, they are possibly going to be too tight – quads being fairly large muscle. Maybe I am the only one with this problem, but even with this minor complaint, they are really useful. I just use them pulled up over my knees. Note: these are the slightly thicker version of the 2XU recovery sleeves, and if you sweat very much you’re probably not going to want to exercise in these – pick the other ones for use DURING exercise.
Meh. Get full tights instead, these don’t stay in place. Alright if you’re planning to stay in bed or on the couch for your recovery, not particularly useful otherwise.
I really want a good compression leg sleeve so I don’t have to wear tights. This product had good compression, close to surgical, but the sleeves do not stay up. The wide band is great but it rolls up and is very painful. I couldn’t bend my knees and I tried 2 sizes. I also dislike the fabric as it looks, feels and picks like pantyhose. Looking for a compression sleeve in the same fabric as tights, similar to cycling leg warmers but with better compression.
Recently purchased this with the hope it would provide some help with the DOMS I am experiencing more and more as I’ve gotten older.
I really had low expectations as far as how much this would actually help…Surprisingly, for me they are EXCELLENT!
I work out, shower and then wear these for around 4-5 hours (sometimes while asleep for the night).
What I have noticed is that I have very little, if any soreness the next day. What little soreness I do experience, is not the really DEEP soreness associated with intense workouts. I am now able to do more intense workouts more frequently than before. My legs feel better than they have in years!
Highly recommended!
These leg sleeves bunch behind the knee and roll over on the top, which gets pretty painful by the end of the day. I’m a wheelchair user, so I’m not even up walking around in them. From the measurements they should fit me perfectly. They do provide a decent amount of compression, so I do wear them sometimes, but only if I’m out of other options.
I use these to provide a barrier between my skin and a lower extremity support device. My right leg is paralyzed below the knee so I use a carbon fiber device (IDEO) to keep my foot up and let me walk. It contacts at my knee. All the knee sleeves I use get pulled down and I have to stop every block to adjust. The length and tension of this sleeve keeps it from getting pulled down. I love it!
Compression is okay. But it doesn’t stay in place and it rolls down…. wish It would stay in place because I really like it and it’s convenient especially when you want to use 1 leg at a time and the price is good.
