What They Say About ‘180S DOWN EAR WARMER-MEN’S’
I bought these to wear for a snow shoveling job this season. They keep my ears so warm that I don’t need to wear a hat. If it gets too windy, I just put my hood on over them. Up until I bought these I used to wear a hat, but wearing hats always left my scalp feeling itchy and messed up my hair. These ear-muffs are so warm, they create a heat zone around the most vulnerable part of your head and when you take them off outside you can definitely feel a difference. I’ve been wearing these consistently for over a month now, in cold weather, and I believe that I may not even have to wear my hat this season at all. Besides being warm, they adjust nice and seem like they’re durable and sturdy. They stay in place and they only move around a little when I’m working with a hood on. As some other reviewers have stated, they do block sound but to me it’s a small price to pay rather than catch a head cold. Thank you to my fellow reviewers for leading me to this product. Well worth the price.
Some design flaws – lots of loose threads sticking out. Something that you’d expect to see on a product from Marshalls, because it failed to meet more rigorous standards. Also, the ear warmer that was shipped to me had a different interior color. I emailed the seller but got no response. It seems like a lot of sellers are putting up pictures of something nicer than what they are shipping out.
The 180s used to be good products. Looks like they’re experimenting with different manufacturers and trying to cut costs, at the expense of quality.
I was skeptical to buy this product at first because it was a new product with no reviews, but to my surprise, this pair of 180’s is hands down the best ear warmers I have every bought. 100% worth the money. one minor detail that was left off of the description: they are fold-able!
My expectations were not met. The picture clearly shows the 180’s with a plush lining, not a grey fleece interior. I was excited to receive the plush lining 180s shown in the picture, only to be disappointed with ones with a grey interior. Not to mention I was paying the premium ($22 can easily be beat) for the plush lining. I wouldn’t of even wasted my time/materials/shipping, when I know I can get the same 180s for ~$15 from other sellers – especially when we’re approaching April!
All in all extremely disappointed and unhappy.
This is an excellent product – very well designed and high quality throughout. One minor criticism – although they do provide more warmth and wind block I have noticed that due to the tight nylon outer covering they are also a bit sound proof as compared to the original fleece model. As I commute to work by bike in a busy urban setting I consider this a safety issue and therefore choose to wear the others on most cold days for that purpose.
I use these every single day in the winter! The extremities of my body get cold really quickly (fingers, ears and toes), and these are sooo much better than just pulling a hood over your head. I have thick hair and the rest of my head doesn’t feel cold even at 5 degrees F or less, it’s pretty much just my ears. These keep them snug and warm (like having two down pillows pressed to your ears) even when the wind is howling around me. They’re much better than standard issue fleece and the size adjustment is convenient and robust.
What else can I say…this is exactly what I was looking for.
These are some seriously warm, windproof earmuffs. They’re essential equipment for nasty winter weather here on the east coast, and nothing will keep your ears and the back of your neck warmer without ruining your ‘do. Unfortunately, their smooth nylon surface makes them extremely easy to drop when not in use; last winter I managed to lose two pairs in cabs, but I’m happy to report my third pair is still going strong.
I have had an older pair of 180s since the mid-2000s. I never thought they fit very well. They always felt like they were slipping off my head. My head is not LARGE, but it’s not small. I wear a 7 3/8 fitted hat size.
This model fits much better. I am not sure if they lengthened the extendable section, but it feels so much more secure than my old 180s did.
The down filling keeps my ears quite warm (though I live in San Francisco area, so it’s not exactly freezing temperatures).
My favorite way to keep my ears warm in the winter, hat-hair-free!
My husband loves it and wears it on his walks whenever it is extra cold.
