I have ordered several bow ties from The Tie Bar and have been pleased with all of them. The mechanism to size the tie to your neck seems sturdy, as does the material the ties are made of. The ties are easy to die and finish, and so far haven’t gone limp like other bow ties I’ve owned. I currently own about 15 ties that I bought from The Tie Bar, and have been happy with all of them.

This particular tie’s color is different than it looks online. It looks more gold than brown to me, but it is still a nice tie.

When beginning my tie collection and branching out from basic colors, this was the first creative tie I tried out, and it really set a standard. The colors blend together richly to create a beautiful sepia swirl, which can either be casual (for a bowtie) or very elegant, depending on what it’s worn with. Something about its aesthetic makes it wearable for just about any clothes combinations, and it blends in to just about any look. There are obviously a few exceptions, such as pastel colors, but this is the ideal tie that’s a jack of all trades.

Also, it’s a great size and it holds its form better than any tie brand out there. These two qualities also make it much easier to tie than other ties, so for someone who knows how to tie bowties but finds the process frustrating, I would encourage this, as it is far more cooperative and naturally slips into place with a full, symmetrical look.

I ordered this particular tie with Thanksgiving in mind but I think it will work well for any time in the Fall. A surprise benefit is that it has sort of, what I call, a “chameleon effect” depending on what sort of light hits it, the intensity of the light, and the angle from which the tie is viewed! (I’m sure there’s a proper name for such an effect besides referring to it as an optical illusion.) Sometimes the deep brown and rust hues come out plainly and then turn your body 90 degrees to one side and the person who was looking at your tie will now see it largely as gold or a champagne color. In any case, it’s a very beautiful tie; conservative without being dull or stuffy. It’s very sharp with a yellow Oxford. It arrived quickly and in perfect shape. – No surprise there – the TieBar people are always tip-top.

I usually buy my neck ties from Nieman Marcus but I don’t have any bow ties, so I figured I’d buy something cheap to see how I liked the look. This tie is fairly high quality silk and looks great with off whites, purples, golds, etc. I was even surprised that the image on the computer screen’s RGB color space was very accurate color wise to the actual product.

Great quality tie at a great price – but beware, the pictures are not always true to color. In my experience thus far with thetiebar.com the colors are far more rich in person than they are in the pic on the website, but in this case I thought that was a good thing. I got many compliments on this one!

This is a beautiful bow tie! The picture doesn’t do it justice. The colors are very pretty together and it will look good with a variety of shirts and jackets. I love the touch of purple!

While the quality of the material is excellent, I felt let down by the size adjustment of the tie: Unlike all the bow-ties I have used before, the system used on this does not allow you to adjust the size once the knot has been tied, which I find an inconvenience.

I don’t wear ties often so when I was shopping for a tie to wear on Easter, I knew I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. The Tie Bar had so many to choose from and in a great price range. I had already picked out the shirt and I knew I wanted a paisley tie. I was really pleased with this purchase!
