I’ve been searching for an imaginary dress I’ve had in my head for over a year. I’ve tried on so many, and nothing fit right. And then, on a whim, I bought one on-line. This dress is awesome! It fits perfectly and is very flattering. Great for a cocktail party, or any formal (but not too formal) event. It’s sexy, but not inappropriate even for work functions – not too revealing.
As for the fit, I am 5’7" 120 lbs B/C cup. I usually wear a 2, or a 4 in the pricier brands. I ordered the 4, and it fits great. I have fairly broad shoulders and my upper arms and shoulders tend to feel very restricted even when there’s plenty of room in the torso. Any smaller and that would have been the case here – I feel a slight pull with my arms forward as if driving a car. But most lace sleeves like this have been incredibly restricting on me, so this was a lucky find. This dress is also very flattering in the tummy and butt – hugs the backside nicely, but might be snug on someone with more of a butt than me. My tummy isn’t flat, but it looks flat in this!
I was so excited to receive this beautiful Adrianna Papell dress!! The only problem was…..I didn’t get an Adrianna Papell dress at all! What I got was a dress that was made to look like the one on the model. Both the tag inside the dress and the sales tag read JAX. Upon picking my package off the porch, throwing my work clothes off, and quickly and anxiously tossing this dress on, I looked in the mirror in total disgust….it was huge, the lace pattern was nothing like the picture, the bottom was not a straight hem, it was a jagged lace trim, no slit in the back. I took it off, looked at the tags and realized someone tried to rip me off. So I sadly sent it back for some other unsuspecting, hopeful customer to get it sent out to them…..buyer beware!!!
I ordered this dress because I wanted something with sleeves, that was still "dressy." The lace is beautiful and I love how it looks, but the fit is small, especially in the shoulder area. I do not like the neckline, either. The dress felt a little snug on me, but really it was the shoulder/neckline portion that just didn’t look right. I ordered this in December, but did not return it because I did think it was so pretty. But I really haven’t worn it so I will probably end up giving it to my daughter, maybe the fit will be better for her. Disappointed and still looking for a long sleeved cocktail type dress. . .
Loved the dress. Wore it to a wedding. I’m very curvy so it covered cleavage but shows off plenty of leg for my 5’9"it. Not tight lace has some stretch it is beautiful. I added some black flat French lace (not ruffles) to the sleeves on the forearm s giving it an elegant touch there. I probably should have added to hem to give e ore length but, felt it would look lingerie-ish. Great price and quality dress. Danced my butt and shoes off…twerking was abit difficult due to short length LOL
This dress is sooooooooooooooo beautiful. i’ve never seen a prettier pattern on the lace, and I designed costumes for decades. Used at least 60 different laces and this is special. Fits true to size. Can’t wait for my anniversary night out!
Would only improve with a stretch lining, and/or lace with more stretch.
Love this dress but as the reviews suggested, it does run small. I had ordered a size 4,6, and 8 and ended up with the 6. Ordinarily I wear a 4 or 6, depending on the brand. I have several different Adrianna Papell dresses, and they are all size 6. I am 5’5" and 125 pounds.
This dress was so nice on, but since it was just a touch too tight in the shoulders for me, I’ve exchanged it for a size larger.
I rarely order clothes online. I always want to try on a dress first because it is very difficult to know how it will fit, but this dress is great. I’m between sizes so I order the larger size thinking I would alter it, but it fits perfectly and looks great.
Great dress! I have worn to a variety of occasions. Took in the mid waist and love the fit and length! I get multiple compliments with every wear!
The dress is very elagant and well made, great for wedding or a nice night out,but it does run a little small. So if you are on the border of sizes I would suggest to order a size up. It is true to size no wiggle room
