What They Say About ‘180S PILOT EAR WARMER’
I knew I needed one of these the first day I walked to lecture this winter. I wasn’t keen on the idea of wearing "ear muffs" as a man, but the cold was quite persuasive. I was debating between this one or one of the wool/fleece ones (Admiral), but decided on the leather one based on someone else’s review. I’m glad I did. They look very nice, and best of all, they do not actually ‘look’ like ear muffs. The leather kind of makes them look like headphones, but not in an overtly audiophile/urban sort of way. They blend in better with my wardrobe and are less conspicuous. I look like a man who knows what he wants and what he needs to do, rather than a prissy guy protecting his sensitive ears. So that equals 5 stars for me.
Oh, and they are very warm.
I have really enjoyed these since I have gotten them. I have to sometimes readjust them because they eventually slipt back and downward. They still cover my ears but just feel funny. I also have a big head so most people might not have this problem. I get a lot of compliments on them and I’m overall glad I got them.
I’m a long time user of wrap around style ear muffs and 180’s continue to meet my needs in cold weather ear protection. The quality is superb and the protection to cold weather they provide far out weighs any price tag you could put on this protect. They are truely priceless. Must have if your a prettyBoy like me and need ear protection but don’t want to mess up your pretty hair.
The design is good, folds really well. But the stitching in between broken the fourth day of using.
They look better than typical wrap around ear muffs. Additionally, the fit is secure without being too snug like pairs I have owned in the past. In my opinion it’s worth a few extra bucks to get a style that doesn’t scream "I don’t care about how these make me look. I’m just cold." Go the extra mile and look like the professional you want to be.
I bought these warmers as a replacement for a similar pair that I managed to lose.
The wind chill here was below zero last week and my ears never knew it.
These are light years ahead, in comfort, style, and warmth, of the goofy looking over the top of the head ear muffs that we wore as kids.
Very comfortable, keeps my ears warm, and the leather looks great. It does tend to slide down a bit so I wouldn’t recommend for fitness or running purposes.
Otherwise, I highly recommend. Gimme more of that, black on black.
Sturdy, classy looking in my opinion. Does dampen the noise – tough to hear folks speaking near you. Consider it soft enough to drown out the roar of the city but not so much to put you in jeopardy if a loud noise is near.
A little too expensive for what it is. I use these under my motorcycle helmet when riding in the winter. They take the bite of the wind out, but are not as wind resistant as I would like them to be. For normal purposes, it is a good product; durable and compact. If you are going to go with earmuffs, this is it.
While I like the build quality, the comfort, and the styling, the ear warmer is too small to fit my noggin. I tried wearing around the back of my neck and across the top of my head (hat size 7 5/8) but found no placement that really works for me. Pity!
