Product is awesome! As others have said, it’s definitely beyond costume quality. It is actually a helmet (not just a soft straw hat) and fits my regular adult head quite well. There is a velcro adjustable strap in the back. Awesome for my costume and would be great in the garden as well.
However, time-crunched buyers beware! I ordered this on a Sunday and had to go back and forth with Amazon (as it is a fulfilled by Amazon product) all week to get a Prime eligible 2-day shipping item delivered by the following Saturday! When I order something with 2-day Prime I expect to receive it 3-4 days after ordering TOPS. I had to twist arms to get upgraded to 1 day shipping so that I could even receive it by Halloween. If you aren’t in a hurry then don’t hesitate to buy this, but don’t assume that "Prime" means fast delivery. For that hassle I give this only 4 stars.
Great helmet and just put a mosquito net over it and you’ve got a great defense against gnats and such while you’re working outside – plus it looks cool that way and less what some think silly. The label states is 100% paper unquote so it’s probably not good idea to wear in steady rain but hasn’t suffered from occasional exposure to light rain when allowed to dry out afterwards. A couple folded handkerchiefs in the crown serve as a handy cushion between top of one’s head and the helmet’s hard underside.
Product arrived on time and the quality and fit of the Pith helmut were great! I’m very pleased with the seller and the product. It was perfect for my safari costume and is sturdy enough to use again and again for historical reenactments or even to wear while gardening etc.
I bought this hat as a Steampunk outfit accessory. The quality of the hat is wonderful! It is well made and sturdy. The fit was perfect for me and was very comfortable in 97+ heat and sun! It has a nice terry cloth band that wicked away sweat nicely. I am considering using this hat as an every day gardening hat as it is so well made. I am very happy with this purchase!
I got one of these at Disney world and I had it for a year before my girlfriend put feathers on it and we added more and more. Now every time I wear this hat I get all sorts of compliments. I ended up getting one on here for my girlfriend and turning it into a flower crown but it was so intricate she didn’t want to wear it and break it by accident, so we got another one and put one rose on the side so she can put pins around like I do.

This isn’t just a costume hat, this is the real deal. The band inside adjusts to your head and leaves a space for air to circulate inside the hat. It’s light, sturdy, and should last a long time.
This is the second one that I bought in the last 15 years, don’t know where I got the last one. It is the coolest hat for working in the yard in the Texas heat. The typical straw hat we use down here does not have enough air ventilation to keep your head cool, this one does. I recommend this hat to beachgoers, gardeners and anyone that works in direct sunlight.
My new Jacobson Pith Hat fits perfectly. If not, you can make adjustments. It’s well made and very durable. I spend a lot of time working outside and this is highly functional for me as protection from the Texas hot summer sun, and the versatile, unique design allows excellent ventilation. I can even wear an extra sweatband at the same time. This hat is replacing my previous Pith hat I’d been using for the last 30 years which finally met its demise. I am extremely pleased to have been able to find another Pith hat of even better quality, comfort, appearance, and durability. I love it!
Most hart are large on my wife’s tiny head… so using at the smallest position. A little warm, out here the desert, but better than what she had and seems comfortable so far..
