My husband and I would just use the collar stays that would come with our dress shirts. The only problem was that A) my dope of a hubby would forget to take his out before washing the shirts and the stays would vanish in the wash (love him to death, but boy oh boy does he push my buttons (excuse the shirt-related humor, LOL!) sometimes); and B) we had no place to keep the stays while we were doing laundry… After most of our stays disappeared, and one outburst that damn near ended the marriage, we decided something had to change! That’s when we found these collar stays.
What I like about them:
1. Color coded! Used to be all of our stays, no matter the size were white. Now we have different colors each in a different size! Makes getting ready for work fun!
2. The container! Used to be we would have collar stays all over the place! Dressers, on top of the dryer, coffee table, you name it and it probably had a collar stay or two on it. Now we have a neat box with individual compartments for each size collar stay. Can you say convenient?!?!?!
3. Quality! These collar stays are durable and made to last! Used to be the crappy stays we had would bend at the slightest breeze, but not with our new collar stays!

What I don’t like about them: NOT A THING!

Collar stays; should be simple, right? These are simple, but with the nice innovation of color-coding the various sizes so your brain doesn’t need to calculate the correct length for your particular shirt. Look, I have dozens of shirts, and for various reasons the collars are of various sizes (men, you know what I mean). Some groggy mornings, I spent way too much time trying to find the correctly-sized collar stay for my wide-collared shirt, or my traditional shirt, neither of which can use the same stay. When they are all copper-colored, it’s a bit tougher early in the morning, maybe in the dark, etc. On the nights I am smart enough to perform these routines before bed, I still have to eyeball the stay to ensure I am not getting stabbed in the neck the next morning or end up losing a stay that was put into a too-big collar.

No more. Easy-peezey. These seem to have the proper stiffness for a stay, not leaving an impression for others to gawk at, but easily keeping the collar in place. And the colors do not appear to show through lighter or white dress shirts. Well done!

Much more sturdy than the stays that come with most shirts. Should last a long time. My only complaint is that the case could be better designed to make it easier to get at the shorter stays without having to tip the whole thing over and spill them. Also, for some reason, my set only came with three sizes, doubling up on the nearly useless smallest ones (see pic), and not four sizes as described.

My husband was pleased with these. They work well and are plenty sturdy enough. A few even made it through the wash ok although I would not recommend that. Especially if you have a dryer that likes to eat socks. These would be even more tasty. I would not recommend these if you have a lot of very pastel or white shirts as some of the colors will show through the collar if they are a thinner and lighter material. They also come in a nice storage case, which would be great if kept by the laundry area to remind you to take them out before washing.

I have a number of shirts that need special dry cleaning because the red collar stay bleeds its color through to the front of the collar, staining the shirt. This wasn’t from washing with it in – just from wearing and sitting in the suitcase. I’m throwing these out and buying a different brand.

Hey look – my collars stay in place!

Good: These are significantly tougher than the cheapies that come in most shirts. And while I thought the color coding was largely a gimmick it’s actually pretty helpful.

Even better: My fashion-conscious daughter loves them and grabs my collar first thing in the morning to see what color I have that day. It’s not exactly quality time, but you take it where you can get it, right?

I doubt that the modern individual has much use for collar stays at all, but it turned out my husband had *one* shirt which needed them, so I bought this set. I suppose if you had many shirts that used stays this would be the set to use because of the color coded feature.

Love the color coding for different lengths. Easy to find if you drop them and they do stay hidden under the collar as long as the cotton is of decent composition ( can see through inexpensive broadcloth) Very solid plastic that doesn’t bend and is not flimsy. Works with most dress collars, spread and point collars. Some of the special collars (i.e. tuxedo shirts) it will not work with since the lengths are standard.

The sizes are ones I needed and for this price I got about 5-10 times as many as I would have anywhere else. Besides, where would I get these?

Great set of stays, I opted for the brightly colored ones so I don’t lose them so easily. They are made of thick, durable plastic that holes the shape of the collar better than some of these flimsy stays that come with the shirt. Very satisfied but my clear plastic box is knicked and cracked. Not a major issue but these should have been shipped in a padded box or envelope, not a baggy.
